The Lakes Region Wavemakers are a local swim team consisting of swimmers ranging in age from 5 to 18. The team has called 827 N Main St, Laconia, NH home since 1982. The team traveled to practice at The Gunstock pool (now closed) and Health Club of Concord from 2015 to 2017 when Laconia Athletic closed.  The building took ownership by The Wellness Complex (TWC) in 2017 and the team then returned and gained the name TWC Wavemakers. Currently the team has 35 swimmers, ranging from beginner level to State Champions. Over the past 42 years the team has trained countless swimmers to not just learn to swim but to become competitive athletes. The team teaches its athletes important values such as teamwork, dedication, and love for a lifelong sport. The team also raises money every year in their 1-hour swim to give back to the community. Over the years the team has raised over $30,000 for local organizations. Last year the team raised $1500 for David’s House. David’s House is a home away from home for families and children receiving treatment through Dartmouth Health Children’s.
